Hinduism - Death

Grief is deeply personal and a multifaceted experience. It profoundly impacts us psychologically, mentally and emotionally. It often manifest itself in various ways, including intense sadness, emotional numbness, and even with some physical symptoms. It's important to allow ourselves to feel our emotions and to grieve in our own way, without any external pressures. We all processes loss differently, it is influenced by our personality, coping mechanism, life experiences, faith, and of course the significance of the loss. We can rely on our deep faith in God, our belief system, and our scriptures for guidance and support to comfort our souls. It's important for us to validate our feelings and allow ourselves time to process it. Healing from grief takes time, and there's no set timeline for moving forward. Prays helps, Meditation helps, Faith in God helps, speak to someone helps .. Stay Strong

In Hinduism, funeral rites, is the 16th sanscar of life "Ant-yes-ti" are deeply spiritual practices designed to guide the soul towards liberation (moksha) and ensure its peaceful transition to the next stage of existence.

Vedic Prayers and the Bhagavad-Gita is often recited during the funeral ceremony.

Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad-Gita is read and below paraphrased.

The wise do not lament for the dead body.

The Soul is indestructible, never dies and is eternal.

There has never been a time when you or I have not existed and in the future, there will never be a time when we cease to exist.

The soul resides in a body that changes from childhood to youth and old age.

Similarly the soul passes into another body a death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change..

Life brings happiness and distress and takes them away too like winter and summer seasons.

One must learn to tolerate them without getting distressed.

Purpose of Funeral Rites:
Hindu funeral rituals are not merely about saying goodbye; they are considered essential for the soul's journey after death.
The belief in the cycle of reincarnation (samsara) and the ultimate goal of liberation (moksha) is central to Hindu funeral practices.
The rituals, including cremation, prayers, and chanting of mantras, are believed to purify the soul and facilitate its transition.
Cremation, symbolizes the release of the soul from the physical body.
Mourning Period, Shraddha Ceremony

summer seasons. One must learn to tolerate them without getting distressed.
